Oceana Canada
Oceana is part of the largest international advocacy group dedicated solely to ocean conservation. Their mission is to protect oceans in Canada by lobbying to change federal policy under umbrella campaigns such as rebuilding wild fish, stopping plastic pollution and protecting marine habitat.
Intentional social media use is important for Oceana to build brand awareness and an engaged community that is ready to jump in and support their calls to action. As much as we love social media, seeing their community get off social media and convert to an email subscriber or petition signer is what was really important to the success of their work.
This was accomplished through consistent posting of carousels and reels, sharing ocean news to raise awareness and keeping their audience updated with the latest campaign information. We also used email marketing and website content to support Oceana’s goals.
